Create a tag

To create a new tag to apply to contacts later, follow these steps.

Step 1: Create a tag

  • Click Audience.
  • Click the Audience dashboard.
  • If you have more than one audience, click the “Current audience” drop-down and select the one you want to work with.

  • Click the “Manage Audience” drop-down and choose “Manage contacts”.
  • Click “Tags”.
  • Click “Create Tag”.
  • Type the name of your tag, and click “Create”.

Bulk tag contacts

To create a new tag and add it to contacts in your audience with a CSV file or by pasting addresses, follow these steps.

Step 1: Bulk tag contacts

  • Click “Audience”.
  • Click “Audience dashboard”.
  • If you have more than one audience, click the “Current audience” drop-down and select the one you want to work with.
  • Click the “Manage Audience” drop-down and choose “View contacts”.
  • Click “Tags”.
  • Click “Bulk Tag Contacts”.

Step 2: Add email addresses

  • On the “Create a tag” screen, type the name of your tag, and choose “Import email addresses” or “Paste email addresses”.
  • Depending on which option you chose, upload your CSV file or paste in your addresses. We’ll ignore any addresses that aren’t already in your audience.

The process to add or remove tags works the same whether you’re looking at your entire audience or a segment of your audience.

Create and add a tag for all contacts

Step 1: Create a tag

  • Click “Audience”.
  • Click “All contacts”.
  • If you have more than one audience, click the “Current audience” drop-down and select the one you want to work with.
  • Check the box next to each contact you want to tag.
  • Click the “Add Or Remove Tags” drop-down menu.

  • Type the name of your tag.
  • Click the name of the tag to add it to your selected contacts. If you already have a tag with that name, it will appear as you type.

Remove a tag

To remove a tag from a contact on the contact table, follow these steps.

Step 1: Remove a tag

  • Click “Audience”.
  • Click “All contacts”.
  • If you have more than one audience, click the “Current audience” drop-down and select the one you want to work with.
  • Check the box next to each contact you want to work with.
  • Click the “Add Or Remove Tags” drop-down menu.

  • Click the tag you want to remove.

Untag all

To remove a tag from all contacts in an audience or segment, follow these steps.

Step 1: Untag

  • Click “Audience”.
  • Click “All contacts”.
  • If you have more than one audience, click the “Current audience” drop-down and select the one you want to work with.
  • Click on the arrow above the checkboxes, then choose “Select All”.
  • Click the “Untag All” drop-down menu and choose the tag you want to remove.
  • In the “Are you sure?” pop-up modal, type “UNTAG”.
  • Click “Untag contacts”.
