Checkouts vs. Online Template & Checkout Flows

The Online Template and Checkout Flows are an older version of the upgraded webforms offered. Checkouts is the newest version of the online checkout experience, which has an upgraded look and feel and comes with many more customization options. They are similar in purpose, which is to improve the overall look, feel, and functionality of the historical Altru forms.

Checkouts:

The newest and best version available to upgrade webforms. Checkouts still does everything the Online Template did, but better. It acts as an improved experience for all ticketing, donation, event, and membership pages. Checkouts also removed the need for Checkout Flows, since all the functionality of a Checkout Flow was built into Checkouts. Customers can make five-minute changes on Checkouts without having to open a project with Checkouts. The opportunities are endless with this tool.

Online Template:

The Online Template consisted of webform upgrades deployed directly within Altru via embedded custom code, improving the default webform presentation and functionality. The Online Template would cover Ticket, Donation, Event, and Membership forms.

Checkout Flows:

Checkout Flows served as an “add-on” to the Online Template. These were even further enhancements or additions on top of the Online Template that were not already built in. If a customer requested a Checkout Flow, this opened up a project with the Checkouts team every time they needed an addition to the Online Template.
