Membership card emails
Do members who purchase or renew a membership via POS sales receive a digital card email?
Yes, if your sales staff correctly enters a valid email address during the POS sale.
How can I ensure that all members on a membership receive their welcome emails and digital card links?
Our software is designed to send the welcome email with digital membership card link(s) to the primary member only. For memberships with two (2) named members, the membership email displays the name of each member beside their unique digital card link. The primary member can forward this email to the secondary member.

What if a member’s card shows an incorrect membership level?
Incorrect membership levels on digital cards often result from outdated data from an old digital membership card in their eWallet.
- Ask the member to delete any digital membership cards from your organization from their Apple Wallet or Google Pay app, and that you will send a new email with a new card link for them to download again.
- Add a note (manual tagging) to the membership record, which will trigger the “Digital cards - Resend digital card” email to be sent.
How can I resend a digital membership card if a member did not download it initially or can’t find the original email?
What should I do if several new members did not receive digital membership cards?
To investigate the issue, follow the steps below:
- Verify the member’s email address
- Check for the SGS note attached to the transaction in constituent’s Altru record
- Review the email template query in Altru
- Investigate in Email Designer
Why are members with free or complementary memberships not receiving the email with their digital membership card links?
Complementary and free memberships entered using a back office or batch process may require specific query parameters to be added to your existing back office email template, OR you may wish to set up a new email template specifically for those memberships.

Why are some of my gift membership recipients not receiving their digital membership card(s)?
If the gift membership was purchased online and the gift giver selected “Deliver membership cards to Giver”, then the gift giver would have received the email with the digital membership cards, which they can forward to the gift recipient.
If the gift membership was entered through the back office or batch process, we recommend that you set up specific email templates and queries to ensure the gift giver receives an acknowledgement email and the gift recipient receives their digital membership cards.

Can I resend a digital card to a member who opted out of emails?
