Email types
Below is a list of the types of email communications you can send using Email Designer.
Confirmation: This email is based on a sales order or group sales query and is sent after a purchase, such as a ticket purchase to a timed-event or non-timed general admission, a program or event registration, or a group sales order. These purchases are not considered tax-deductible, and include the transaction date, purchase amount, purchase description, quantity, order ID, and other details. Confirmations may also include attached tickets and/or specific details about the associated event, program, or reservation.
Acknowledgement: This email is sent after a membership purchase or donation/gift transaction. It is based on a sales order, membership, or revenue query. Because the patron may need to retain this email for tax purposes, acknowledgements should include at least the date of purchase, amount, and a brief description of the membership or donation. Digital membership cards may also be attached to an acknowledgement or sent in a separate email.
Digital membership cards: The purpose of this email is to send digital membership cards only, which can be used for a variety of situations, such as your initial launch of digital membership cards, for complementary and staff memberships, to notify recipients of gift memberships, or to resend digital cards. This email is based on a sales order or membership query.
Notice: This email is sent to notify a patron before charging their credit card for auto-renewal memberships or recurring gifts. Notices are based on a membership or revenue query, and use the “relative to date” feature in Email Designer.
Reminder: This email is useful for sending a reminder email to a patron before an important upcoming timed event or program, or to notify members that their membership will expire soon, or for reminders relating to group sales orders. Reminders are based on a sales order, membership, or group sales query, and use the “relative to date” feature in Email Designer.
You can find step-by-step instructions to create each of these email templates by viewing the Membership emails and Ticket emails sections.
